Supplemental Crossfit Workouts

Supplemental Crossfit Workouts

The first thought that came to mind when I was asked by a CrossFitter, “Where can I find the best supplemental training to add to my current routine that is short but effective?” was, “Is this even possible without hiring a trainer?”

While I believe that hiring a coach who will work one-on-one with their clients to help them achieve their goals will provide the best results, I understand that we can’t all afford such an expense…especially on top of monthly gym memberships. So, what are our options?

It’s possible that you’ll have to think about this for a while. What are the things that are most important to you? We, especially CrossFitters, have a tendency to want to be great at everything, all of the time. This isn’t to say that you can’t be good at everything at some point. Because, like most readers, you’re probably already spending an hour or more in your regular CrossFit class, the key is to start with ONE goal at a time.

So, what are your objectives? What is ONE area where you can make a difference? You’re ready to move forward once you’ve realized this.

What Are the Best Places to Look for Supplemental Training?

Seek assistance from within. My first piece of advice is to seek help from a certified trainer within your box if you’re looking to improve in the sport of CrossFit. Find someone who has more than just an L-1 and ask them for advice. It’s highly likely that you have a coach who is also trained in other areas of fitness–from exercise science majors to certified personal trainers–find someone who has more than just an L-1 and ask them for advice. Maybe they’ll give you free advice or a discount if you ask, but you’ll never know until you ask!

Invest in a specialist. You can connect with a number of online trainers who have excellent reviews. Strongfigure has a team of coaches ready to assist our audience with their programming needs. A powerlifter, a gymnast, a physical therapist, elite CrossFitters, and several personal trainers are all available for assistance. We aren’t the only website that provides coaching assistance. If you want more information, fill out the contact form at the bottom of this post or search for other online trainers.

Do you want to improve your overall health and fitness? Some of my favorite workouts are at Invictus CrossFit. I enjoy following their “Fitness” programming, which includes 2-3 auxiliary strength lifts and a brief metcon. You can complete the entire workout in about 45 minutes, or just do the strength work if you only want to improve your fitness.
